Injection Molding Common Problems And Solutions
Injection molding process is a complex process involving mold design, mold manufacturing, raw material characteristics and raw material pretreatment methods, molding process, injection molding machine operation and other factors, and closely related to processing environmental conditions, product cooling time, post-processing technology. Therefore, the quality of plastic products is not only dependent on the injection molding machine injection precision, measurement accuracy, or only by the mold design and mold processing precision level, usually, it will be affected by the above other factors and constraints.
I. Burr (or flying edge, overflow, overflow) :
Reason: The occurrence of burr is caused by the overflow of molten injection resin from the mold parting surface, which is the worst state in the forming operation. Especially when the burr is firmly adhered to the parting surface of the die for mold locking, it will damage the parting surface of the die. After the mold damage caused by this, the formed product will produce new burrs when it is re-operated. At the same time, it also aggravates the damage of the mold and leads to unusable.
Countermeasures:
(1) do not use too high injection pressure, (2) improve the locking force, (3) keep the mold properly, (4) adjust the injection volume, reduce the temperature
